Walls Go Up and The House Starts to Take Shape

The paper is coming off in Bailey's room and it is looking MUCH better. I hope to finish peeling paper, and maybe start some plastering before the guys get back from scout camp. I think if this room starts to get cleaned up, the whole house will feel better. Imagine lilac and butter yellow and dragonflies and wish me luck.

Seth and Ben's room, cleaned out. It just needs one crack patched and there is one spot where the plaster needs to be fixed. Then, they are headed for butterscotch on the walls, with twig furniture, fish nets and old fishing poles on the walls...
Teddy's room started getting drywall this week! He has bear tracks on his bedding and will get a wainscoat level barn wood with a red drybrushed finish and cream upper walls. His train table will be in the corner.

The kitchen got a back wall this weekend. The doorway that goes into the utility room is what you see in the background and the stove will be centered on the kitchen wall. The ceiling in the kitchen will be made from a pile of bead board that was in the barn. The floor will be tile, something that will pull in the brick and still be warm.

I caulked the crown molding and painted a section of this wall this week. It looks so nice and warm. The woodwork will be uniform throughout the house and will remain about the same color. Mom gave me a tip to make the paint stick, so I will be applying a flat Kilz and then the trim paint. This room needs a little more work, but is coming along.

We have a working toilet. Do you have any idea how nice a working toilet is? I will keep the pattern on this floor and probably paint the walls a light cream since the room does not have a window. This room will utilize a dresser from the house with a vessel sink and faucet. The mirror will be one that was on a dresser that we did not save. So this room will be recycled.
