subfloors, bath tubs and auctions...oh my

We are starting to see progress now. Seth and I went out on the porch of the house. Charles thought we were nuts, but the coon mess on that porch just had to go. It was nice to be out there and the deck is very sturdy (obviously, if I let Seth out.) There is a little of the original beadboard from the roof of the old porch and YEAH!!!!!! The old eaves are definitely there and appear to be in good shape. So we get to take down the second level of the porch. (Probably after we move in)
With the floors done, we were able to frame in the back of the kitchen and sub-floor the kitchen! It looks soooooo much better with a kitchen floor in place! Just the corner where the plumbing needs to come up was left open. We can see the kitchen footprint, the bathroom footprint, the utility room footprint...It was really cool. Electricity and plumbing are lining up now to go in, so hopefully before the 22nd, we will have a wall or two up. I can't wait!!!
Nancy and I pulled nails for about 3 hours. It is really unbelievable how many big old nails are in woodwork like this. We kept quite a few and put them into a glass jar.
Bathtubs went upstairs this weekend too. My jetted tub is in its' spot and the kids tub is in place too. It is sooooo exciting!
